2 fully working British Field Telephone Set 'L' Mark 1/1. For free!

No dates on 'em, but a quick bit of research seems to suggest they were used in ww2.

Excellent find!Proper field telephones, indeed! They were made from late '40 onwards and made and used post war too. Unlike the Set 'F' types like the one's I've just aquired and Yith has, which are more HQ and emplacement sets; the Set 'D' and Set 'L' were used more "in the field". I'll have to get going and start building a field exchange so we can use 'em all for events!

Yeah, i've got 4 now, (2 L's, 1 'F' and one US type EE-8) and have been looking for any info on field exchange boxes, with the aim of eventally building one.

If you come across any decent pics, let me know!

WW2 (and '50s post war) Russian field exchanges were very similar to British ones, as we gave them the designs (and think even lend-leased a few British ones before they stated production of their own). They should be cheaper to get hold of than a genuine Brit one, is totally compatible and'll look virtually the same.

M40 tunic from Pirschen - the correct fit!

In fact, it's a little snug around the torso, so I'll have to wear it around the house tonight, to stretch it...

Ok, my blouse is '49 pattern, and my dennison is from '56, but for now, it's close enough for me. Will be hoping to get a better dennison when I can, but as for the rest, I'm happy. :D
