Snatched up one of those Luftwaffe belts that Epic had on sale on eBay (thanks to Lardassmonkey for the heads up). Didn't get them last time and noticed some more had gone up less than 30mins before they ended. Grabbed some trouser suspenders as well.

sounds good :good: , hows the colour, cut, skirt lenght etc? what did it cost all-in?

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."
Joseph Stalin, November 1942

Colour is a lovely olive green, cut seems fine to me, skirt length slightly longer than my other tunics, but perfectly acceptable. Cost equated to £107 all in at the time of purchase.

Weekend pick up, a French 1935 pattern "Surtout"/Canvas duster for motorized and cavalry troops.£20 in camden, just like this one:

Also as used in Algeria and indo-china.

This makes me a tunic, a rifle and motorcyclists style airsoft safe goggles away from a viable but basic early war French get-up.

To the tune of "Mademoiselle from Armentières"

Napoleons army ran away, As you do
The guard stood firm for Frances Pride, As you do
They said the guard will stand and die
But we heard what their Colonel cried
It wasn't pretty I tell you.
