For anyone that still needs a set; canvas Y-straps for €5! The caveat being you'd have to pay shipping from Finland, if you can pick up a few other gubbins from there at the same time it'd probably make it worthwhile:

I think I'm just going to rely on my belt hooks for this one :)

OK. Just splashed out on a few bits and bobs so two questions...
1. New FJ helmet to paint (bargain at £32, and fits well).. Ral 8030... 1942 onwards or RAL7028 Dunklegelb 1943 onwards... i wil also be painting mess tin and cup. I would like it to pass muster but would also like it to be generic for future summer games
2. New M42 sand coloured field cap, came without insignia. Who is good for a reasonably priced LW tropical cockade and eagle?

A few weeks left until Kasserine so could order fron Asia.. Please advise..
Regards Chris.

Dunno if you've seen this thread viewtopic.php?f=133&t=9194 from the Kasserine postponed in 2010 but it includes a discussion on paint colours.

From what I can gather FJ tropical was different from your typical DAK as it was a little lighter also I think RAL7028 Dunklegelb was 43 onwards and the slightly earlier RAL8020 being 42 on would cover more theatres.

Yes Tim. Right for both DAK Heer and FJ

Just trying to sort out kit for my brother at the moment and was wondering if this would be good enough for him to wear? (obviously he'll be wearing boots and the gaiter will be done up etc)

My new MC Hammer pants (FJ tropical trousers ) arrived today :happyswing: the delivery estimate was around the 22nd and I was a bit on edge as to weather they would arrive in time ,now I just need to give them a good washing to time them down .

armoury
m1a1 Thompson,sten mk2,mp40,stg44,sterling,mk2 bren gun,lee Enfield no4 mk1,Mauser Kar98, Walther ppk,smith and Weston m10 and Mauser m712
Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
