The answer is Del somehow managing to fit a K98 round in the tiny gap between my glasses. I nearly shat myself.

My M1 helmet usually covers that little gap, I hadn't really thought about it when not wearing the helmet.

My injuries also extend to a rather nice scrape down the side of my arm when the roadside collapse under my feet and I slid 10 foot down a gravel bank.
I think it was just a combination of enthusiasm, dedication, good weather and an extremely tough site terrain.
my thoughts exactly. not at all upset or bitter about my injury. if you dont wanna get hurt dont play the game! plus it means I have a great story to tell
